We’re proud of our great coaching staff, which includes:

  • Head Coach: Coach Molly Perry is in her seventh year as the Director and Head Coach of the Junior Gladiators Volleyball team. Originating from the Chicago suburbs, Molly started playing volleyball in middle school and continued to play through high school at Naperville Central and Top Gun volleyball club in the Chicago area then in college as an Outside Hitter. In her junior year, she helped take her team to the Illinois Elite Eight High School State Championships which was the first ever volleyball appearance for the HS. Molly was recruited to play volleyball in college as an outside hitter for University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, a nationally ranked Division III school. She has coached at camps and clinics throughout her career, both in Chicago and Atlanta. Molly and her husband, Matt, have lived in Johns Creek for the past 18 years and have two children Morgan (12) and Max (10).
  • Assistant Coach: Coach Cynthia Johnson (CJ) is in her first year as the Assistant Coach of Junior Gladiator Volleyball and is coaching the Red Team this season. CJ is also currently with Top Dog volleyball club and a founding member. Prior to this, she coached for two years with Olympus volleyball club and four years with North Atlanta Volleyball Club. She was also the JV coach at Wheeler High School, and during the summer months, CJ coaches young ladies in sand volleyball. As a player, she has been playing volleyball for over 25 years and believes that keeping a positive attitude is what makes the sport fun and picking supportive teams with the same attitude has been more important than winning — but the result was success, when it wasn’t really the goal. Helping others stay positive is how you make a team stay strong, passionate, and cohesive. She wants to bring the same things she’s enjoyed to younger players, so that they can build friendships, have a great way of life, and win some games along the way. Cynthia is still participating in adult leagues and has been trained to referee with YMCA and USA Volleyball. She is also Impact Certified (USAV) and coaches at Pinckneyville Middle School. Her specialty positions coaching are Defensive Specialist and Sand volleyball.
