Multiple Teams · Longhorns August Athlete of the Month Voting Now Open


Back by popular demand is the Athlete of the Month voting brought to you by Longhorns of Johns Creek.  Head coaches of sports in season submit nominations to the athletic department and the community votes for the athlete of the month.  Each month we will honor one male and one female student athlete with a certificate, an Under Armour sackpack, and a gift from Longhorns Steak House.  Make sure to cast your vote for a Male and Female Athlete of the Month! Voting will end on Sunday, October 1st at 9pm.



Below are the August 2017 Nominations for Athlete of the Month:

Female Athlete of the Month Nominations:

Chloe Kinnebrew – Softball – Chloe is a sophomore starting Varsity at 3rd base and catcher.  With 50 at bats, she has 30 hits, 14 RBI’s, 5 doubles, 1 triple, and 3 home runs.  In the field Chloe is leading the team with a .980 fielding percentage and 2 double plays.  She is a key player on our team by being able to work anywhere on the in-field and behind the plate when needed.


Allison Rothrock – Cross Country – Allison finished 2nd at the Fulton County Championships.  She is a returning state placer in both cross country and track.  Allison currently has the 2nd fastest time in JCHS cross country history.  She also has over a 100 average in all AP classes


Erin Williamson – Volleyball – Erin is captain of the varsity volleyball team and has been a terrific leader for our younger players since the summer training sessions.  She is an integral part of our defense on the floor and is a positive role model for anyone who watches her.  She recorded her 1500th career dig while playing in the Durango Invitational Tournament in Las Vegas and currently leads our team in digs, 2nd in aces, 2nd in assists, and 2nd in serve percentage.


Male Athlete of the Month Nominations:

Chesson Sipling – Cross Country – Chesson has helped place JCHS to a top 7 ranking in AAAAAA.  He is an outstanding leader not only on the track but in the classroom as well.  He currently has over 100 average in all of his AP classes.  Chesson even plays the drums in a rock cover band.


John Watson – Football – John has been one of our most productive players on defense in addition to playing on multiple special teams units.  He not only leads the team in tackles totaling 74 in 5 games, but he has 26 more than the next highest player in the region!!  John has had an outstanding first half of the season helping lead our defense while playing one of the most physically demanding positions on the field at a very high level.  He has earned Team Defensive Player of the Week 4 times and has also been recognized by the staff and been given the Gladiator Award once.  The Gladiator Award is a weekly award that recognizes a team member that has demonstrated his commitment to the team, to service and to excellence on and off the field.
