Today was the last day of the 3rd Annual Gladiator Showcase. The last day of the event featured 7 games with 4 on the girls side and 3 on the boys side.
Day 3 proved to be the most exciting day for competition amongst the girls teams. 3 of the 4 games were decided by 7 or fewer points and 1 game went into overtime. The closest game in regulation was between Lanier and Pace Academy with the Lady Longhorns winning the game 58-57. Davis lead Lanier with 22 points. Your host Lady Gladiators had to go to overtime with Oconee County but would win 48-45. Tanguilig lead the team with 26 points. Top scorers on the day for the girls were Upchurch of Pace Academy with 29 points and Tanguilig of Johns Creek with 26 points.
On the boys side, 6 very athletic teams matched up to close out the event. The closest game on the day was Duluth vs Kings Ridge. The Wildcats would win 55-49 and were lead by Johnson who had 21 points in the game. Your leading scorers on the day were Smith of Collins Hill with 25 points, Martin of Kings Ridge with 25 points, Johnson of Duluth with 21 points, and Augustave of Buford with 21 points.
