Your favorite high school teams are set to return to the field/court of play starting the week of September 7th. Our athletes and coaches have been working hard since June to safely start the return to play process while following strict safety guidelines to help keep everyone healthy. Hours upon hours of weight lifting, running, conditioning, and practice have taken place to prepare our teams to return to the field of battle in the Fall GHSA sports. The athletes and coaches are ready to finally showcase their skills, talents, and bring back that sense of Gladiator Community that makes Johns Creek a special place.
While we will be traveling and hosting games; there will be new restrictions and capacity limits made for the health of our athletes, visitors, and community. Attending games has become a staple part of the Johns Creek High School experience that has established our motto of #WeAreTheCreek. Make sure to read all of the guidelines below as you prepare to come cheer on the Gladiators!
The major change for all events this year will be that all ticket sales will be CASHLESS for every sport. All tickets will be available online prior to the event at www.gofan.co . During our current limited capacity at each venue; there will be no ticket sales at the gate of any home event. You will need to create a GoFan account and purchase your ticket in advance before your arrival at any JCHS home game. Your ticket will be sent to you electronically on your mobile device and will be redeemed at the entrance gate before you enter the venue. This cashless option will allow lines at the gate to flow quicker and also help keep our ticket takers and employees from direct contact with spectators.
Each venue will have a specific capacity and once that capacity has been reached; the game is sold out and entrance into the event will no longer be available. Please see the capacity limits below for each of the JCHS Fall Sports venues
- Football Home Stands – 844 Fans
- Football Visiting Stands – 281 Fans
- Main Gym for Volleyball – One sided bleachers = 251 Two sided bleachers = 502 (Will depend on one or two court setup)
- Aux Gym for Volleyball – 93 Fans
- Softball – 150 Fans
Social distancing will be required at all venues. There will be designated seating areas that will be visibly marked as row/seat closed or no standing zone. We ask the all fans follow instructions and only sit in designated areas. For softball games, we encourage fans to bring their own chairs to spread out and sit along the fence areas of the softball stadium to help increase social distancing while watching games.
Along with social distancing, the following guidelines will be in place:
- No tailgating will be allowed on any FCS campus
- No student gatherings prior to a game
- Every spectator will be temperature checked and screened prior to entering an event
- Every spectator will be required to wear a mask while attending the event
- Spectators will be restricted to stands before, during, and after every event. Only approved personnel will be allowed in the following areas with the appropriate credentials:
- Press box
- Track area
- Inside any fence near a competition area
- On the court in either the main or aux gyms
If you can not attend an event in our stadium during the Fall 2020 season; games will be broadcast LIVE on the NFHS Network. You will need to signup for a NFHS Network account and subscription by going to https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/ . Once you have created your account, set Johns Creek as your favorite school and you will be able to view the different stadium events that are broadcast live. A portion of your subscription does come back to Johns Creek High School and we appreciate your support. This is a great option to see games while you are out of town, family that live all over the world can watch online, or anyone that cannot attend venues where large crowds are possible. We are currently working to have the same system installed in our main gym so those events can be watched live as well. Check back to our athletic website for more information when this option becomes available.
We understand that our games in Fall 2020 will look very different than what they have looked like in the past. We are very fortunate to not only have our athletes compete but also have the opportunity to watch them as well. More information about how you can obtain sport specific tickets for attendance to come out between 9/3 and 9/8. If you have any questions to the district guidelines set above, please reach out to Athletic Director Jason Holcombe.
