We had a fantastic day at the Asics Invitational this past Saturday. The course had a beautiful backdrop and it was pretty cool see the Tony Stark’s cabin as the kids raced by the lake. The course was a true cross country course that had a few rolling hills but A LOT of competition. With the crisp air and hard work our varsity and JV teams stepped up their game with many PRs and season bests. The varsity girls were invited to race in the championship division. We were ranked 32 out of 32 teams that were invited to compete. The girls definitely rose up to the challenge. Agam Horowitz ran a 18:49. That is the 2nd fastest time in JCXC history! Allison Swift’s 19:15 was the 3rd fastest time in JCXC history! The girls varsity finished in 19th place overall. Our girls’ JV team placed 13th overall led by Charlotte Ferrell and Ashleigh Hampson.
The boys were led by Asa Hawkins who had a top 10 finish against very tough competition and Will Gonzalez who is now #10 on JCXC record board. Asa moves to #5 on the JCXC record board. Boys finished in a close 5th place beating many teams we haven’t beaten before. Our JV team placed 7th overall in the 6a-7a races. Below are the athletes that ran personal bests this weekend.
Luke Ahlin, Ben Barrett, Royce Bendure, Patrick Cho, Justin Connelly, Wilson Fisher, Will Gonzalez, Christian Haynes, Graham Hill, Pierce Jennings, Ethan Louw, Jeremy McWhirter, Nathan Saliceti, Dana Borsh, Kacey Burgess, Phoebe Fisher, Reagan Forkey, Ashleigh Hampson, Agam Horowitz, Naomi Kolosna, Caroline Roberts, Allison Swift, Alexis Vaka, Sarah White
