Centennial Overpowers Johns Creek 13–3 After Early Gladiator Surge

Roswell, GA — February 12, 2026

The Johns Creek Gladiators Varsity baseball team opened Thursday’s matchup at Centennial High School with promising momentum, but an explosive offensive performance by the Centennial Knights led to a 13–3 loss for the visitors.

Johns Creek struck early in the top of the first inning. Drew King worked a leadoff walk, and Jesse Johns followed with a single to set up the Gladiators’ first scoring opportunity. Senior infielder Luke Volpe delivered with an RBI single to put Johns Creek on the board, and Kellen Marshall added another run‑scoring hit to give the Gladiators a quick 2–0 advantage.

Starting pitcher Micah Wilcox took the mound for Johns Creek and looked to protect the early lead, but Centennial’s offense soon caught fire. The Knights generated steady pressure in the middle innings, stringing together hits and capitalizing on scoring opportunities to overtake the Gladiators and build a commanding advantage.

Despite flashes of strong offensive execution and three total runs on the night, Johns Creek struggled to match Centennial’s sustained production at the plate. The Knights continued adding runs throughout the contest, ultimately securing a 13–3 home victory.

The Gladiators will look to rebound quickly. Their next contest is scheduled for Friday, February 13, 2026, when they return home to host the Cambridge Bears.
