Cambridge Overpowers Johns Creek 11–1 on Friday Night
Johns Creek, Ga. — Cambridge used a fast start and steady offensive pressure to defeat the Johns Creek Gladiators 11–1 on Friday, February 13, in a road matchup at Johns Creek High School.
The Bears surged ahead early, capitalizing on timely hitting and aggressive baserunning to build a lead the Gladiators could not match. Johns Creek starter Jesse Johns worked three innings on the mound, battling through Cambridge’s lineup before handing the ball to relievers Rhys Williams and Jake Blackwelder, who finished the game.
Offensively, the Gladiators were limited to two hits on the night. Rhys Williams and Drew King each collected a hit, but Johns Creek was unable to string together the offense needed to narrow the deficit.
Despite the loss, the Gladiators will have a quick opportunity to bounce back. Johns Creek returns to action on Saturday, February 14, when they host the Lambert Longhorns in another home matchup.
