Female Athlete of the Month - Annabelle Fambrough - Swimming
Gladiator Athletics is proud to recognize Annabelle Fambrough as our Female Athlete of the Month. A junior on the Gladiator swim team, Annabelle has distinguished herself not only through her outstanding performances in the pool but also through her unwavering leadership, resilience, and positive spirit.
After battling injuries last season, Annabelle entered this year determined to come back stronger—and she has done exactly that. Her hard work has paid off with multiple state cuts, including her first in the 50 free, and she played a key role in helping the team secure its 10th consecutive Fulton County Championship this past week. Her comeback story is one of grit, discipline, and heart.
Annabelle’s leadership has elevated her to a captain-level presence on the team, despite only being a junior. She brings teammates together, celebrates their successes, and sets a standard of enthusiasm that lifts the entire program. Whether she’s cheering on a lane mate, organizing team events, or spearheading senior recognitions on social media, Annabelle leads with intention and joy.
Her impact reaches far beyond the pool. Teachers across campus speak highly of her character, work ethic, and compassion for others.
“Anabelle is a shining example of what it means to be a student-athlete at JCHS. She brings a positive attitude and an energy that lights up the classroom everyday. As a leader during lab exercises, she not only excels in her own work but also goes out of her way to help others succeed. Her active participation in class discussions shows her commitment to learning, and her kindness toward classmates and teachers makes her a role model for everyone. I am so proud that Anabelle is being recognized for her leadership, generosity, and enthusiasm!” – Jim Ernst, Biology Teacher
“Annabelle has been in my Spanish classes for 3 years now. She has definitely stood out as a hard worker, and a leader. She has helped students along the way that have needed help without being asked, has made newer students feel more comfortable in a new setting, and has offered positive feedback to students to help build confidence in a foreign language. I am so proud of her; she is very deserving of recognition.” – Tania Caveda, Spanish Teacher
“Annabelle is an infectious athlete—when she is excited, it brings others along with that excitement too. She has stepped into the captain role as a junior this year and works very hard to include all her teammates. She recently took charge of honoring our seniors on social media and also hit her first state cut in the 50free!” – Jordan Smith, Swim Coach
“Annabelle is a great young lady, very hardworking, always energetic, happy, and lighting up every room she enters. She is very deserving of this honor! Congrats Giggles!” – James Johnson, Marketing Teacher
Annabelle embodies what it means to be a true student-athlete at Johns Creek—driven, uplifting, academically committed, and team-focused. Her journey this year is a testament to perseverance and a reminder of the impact one person’s energy and leadership can have on an entire program.
Congratulations, Annabelle! Gladiator Nation is proud to celebrate you.
