GIRLS LACROSSE OPENS SEASON 2–0 WITH DOMINANT WIN OVER MARIST
The Johns Creek girl's lacrosse team continued its strong start to the season with an impressive 18–1 victory over Marist. The Gladiators set the tone early and maintained control throughout the match, showcasing both offensive efficiency and disciplined defensive play.
Avery Mathewson earned Player of the Game honors after delivering an outstanding all‑around performance. She finished with 4 goals, 2 assists, and a caused turnover, helping fuel the Gladiators’ momentum on both ends of the field. Johns Creek’s offense spread contributions across the roster, while the defense remained locked in, allowing just a single goal and consistently disrupting Marist’s scoring opportunities.
This balanced effort advances Johns Creek to a 2–0 start, reflecting strong teamwork and confidence heading into the next matchup.
The Gladiators return to action on Saturday, February 21, when they travel to Lambert High School.
