Gladiators Earn First Region Win With 6–2 Victory Over Milton
The Johns Creek Gladiators secured their first region victory of the season on Tuesday, March 10, defeating Milton 6–2 on the road in a game defined by sharp defense, steady pitching, and consistent offensive pressure.
Johns Creek set the defensive tone early, executing cleanly in the field and limiting Milton’s scoring opportunities throughout the night. On the mound, senior Donny Myers and sophomore Shaan Banka combined to hold the Eagles to just two runs, with Banka earning the win after entering in relief and keeping Milton from mounting a comeback.
At the plate, the Gladiators produced nine hits and capitalized on scoring chances from the start. Kellen Marshall got the early offense going as part of a multi‑hit performance that helped Johns Creek establish momentum. Sean Kennedy and Walker Smith also recorded two hits each, contributing to an offense that applied steady pressure on Milton’s pitching staff.
One of the key swings of the game came from Watson Dufresne, who worked the count with two strikes before driving a double into right field to bring home a pair of runs. Additional RBI hits from Drew King and Henry Lindberg extended the Gladiators’ lead and provided valuable insurance as the game progressed.
With the 6–2 win, the Gladiators improve their standing in region play but will have little time to celebrate. Johns Creek returns to action Wednesday night for a 6 p.m. matchup at Lanier High School, marking their second region game in as many days.
