Gladiators Fall 2–1 in Pitchers’ Duel at Chattahoochee
Chattahoochee High School — March 25, 2026
The Johns Creek Gladiators came up just short on Wednesday night, dropping a tightly contested 2–1 matchup to the Chattahoochee Cougars in what proved to be a classic pitchers’ duel.
Johns Creek right-hander Micah Wilcox turned in a standout complete-game performance, keeping the Cougars’ lineup in check throughout the evening. Wilcox allowed only five hits and two runs while striking out two and issuing just one walk, giving the Gladiators a chance from start to finish.
At the plate, Johns Creek collected contributions up and down the lineup. Jesse Johns and Drew King led the offensive effort with two hits apiece, while Luke Volpe, Jackson Deahl, Kellen Marshall, and Chris Sellars each added a hit of their own. Despite frequent pressure on the basepaths, the Gladiators were unable to push across the tying run.
Chattahoochee held its 2–1 edge through the final innings to secure the home victory.
Johns Creek will look to bounce back when they host the Cougars at The Nic on Friday at 6 p.m. for Senior Night.
