Gladiators Fall 8–2 to Milton Despite Strong Start
MILTON, Ga. — Johns Creek opened Tuesday’s game at Milton High School with early momentum, but the Milton Eagles rallied midway through the matchup to secure an 8–2 win.
The Gladiators set the tone immediately when leadoff hitter Drew King blasted a no‑doubt home run to left field on the game’s first pitch. After Milton responded to even the score, Johns Creek regained the lead in the second inning. With two outs, Watson Dufresne delivered a run-scoring hit that brought home Chris Sellars, giving the Gladiators a 2–1 advantage.
Momentum shifted soon after as Milton’s lineup surged, piecing together multiple scoring innings to take control of the game. Johns Creek turned to pitcher Jacob Fetz, who provided a steadying presence on the mound. Fetz worked 3⅓ innings in relief, allowing just two hits and no earned runs while quieting the Eagles’ offense.
Milton’s pitching was strong and the Gladiators were unable to generate the offense needed to mount a comeback.
Johns Creek and Milton will meet again on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at “The Nic” at Johns Creek High School.
