Johns Creek Secures First Win of Season Against Northview
Johns Creek, Ga. — The Johns Creek Varsity Gladiators earned their first victory of the young season on Monday, defeating the Northview Titans in a well-rounded performance at Johns Creek High School.
Micah Wilcox delivered a strong start on the mound, working five innings and striking out four while keeping the Titans’ offense in check. Phin Czuper and Drew King followed in relief, combining to shut the door and preserve the Gladiators’ lead.
At the plate, Johns Creek put together a steady offensive effort. Luke Volpe drove in a run with a timely hit, while Chris Sellars sparked the lineup with two singles up the middle, the second of which put the Gladiators ahead for good. Sellars finished the afternoon 2-for-3, leading the team’s offensive output.
Defensively, Johns Creek played a clean game, not committing a single error.
With momentum building, the Gladiators will hit the road next, traveling to Mount Pisgah Christian School for a Wednesday matchup on February 18 at 4 p.m.
