Lady Gladiators Fall to Milton

The Johns Creek Gladiators ran headlong into a Milton buzzsaw on Friday night and came away bruised, falling 62–27 to a deep, disciplined Eagles squad that never let the tempo tilt their way. Milton controlled the pace from the opening tip, turning every Gladiator mistake into transition points and steadily widening the gap as the game wore on.
Still, Johns Creek refused to fold. Florida Johnson led the way with 9 points, attacking the rim and keeping the offense alive when possessions got hard-earned. Grace Landek chipped in 5, while Ava Johnson and Emily Jackson each added 4, doing the gritty work in traffic against a much taller, more experienced Milton lineup. It wasn’t pretty, but it was honest basketball—fighting for rebounds, diving for loose balls, and playing through a long night.
The loss drops the Gladiators to 8–9 on the season, a record that tells a story of a young team learning the price of every possession in a tough schedule. There’s no time to sulk in this league. Johns Creek gets a chance to reset and respond when they return home on January 13th to face Gainesville, a matchup that now carries the weight of momentum, pride, and a chance to turn the page.
