Patriots Pull Away Late to Defeat Gladiators 15–9 in High‑Scoring Matchup
Johns Creek, Ga. — February 18, 2026
The Mt. Pisgah Patriots used a late offensive surge to secure a 15–9 home victory over the Johns Creek Gladiators on Wednesday afternoon, capping off a back-and-forth game that featured strong hitting from both lineups.
Mt. Pisgah opened the contest with an explosive first inning, pushing across five runs to take an early 5–1 lead. Johns Creek’s lone answer in the opening frame came from Jesse Johns, who put the Gladiators on the board with a solo home run. Johns also drew the start on the mound for Johns Creek.
Despite the early deficit, the Gladiators steadily chipped away and mounted an impressive comeback. Henry Lindberg delivered a two‑RBI single, Watson Dufresne added a two‑RBI double, and Luke Volpe contributed a two‑RBI single as Johns Creek fought to even the score. Extra‑base hits from Rhys Williams and Chris Sellars helped fuel the offensive momentum, while Sean Kennedy turned in a multi‑hit performance and swiped a stolen base.
Behind their revived offense, the Gladiators rallied to tie the game at 9–9, setting the stage for a tight finish. However, Mt. Pisgah regained control in the final inning, capitalizing on several scoring opportunities to plate six runs and put the game out of reach.
Johns Creek relied on Jackson Deahl, Jacob Fetz, and Jayden Shah in relief as the bullpen worked to contain Mt. Pisgah’s steady offense.
With the loss, the Gladiators turn their attention to their next matchup. Johns Creek will face Flowery Branch on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at Hog Mountain Park in Flowery Branch.
