Roswell Holds Off Late Johns Creek Rally in 8–6 Win
The Johns Creek varsity Gladiators traveled to Roswell on Wednesday night and struck early, building a quick 3–0 lead in the top of the first inning. Roswell responded immediately, taking advantage of some defensive miscues by the Gladiators to swing the momentum and eventually build a five‑run lead.
Despite the early setback, Johns Creek continued to battle. Trailing by five in the third inning, the Gladiators mounted a steady comeback, chipping away at the deficit and bringing the tying run to the plate multiple times in the later innings. Their push ultimately came up short, as Roswell held on for an 8–6 victory.
The Gladiators collected 10 hits in the loss, with multi‑hit performances from Jesse Johns, Jackson Deahl, and Drew King. Walker Smith, Kellen Marshall, and Jayden Shah each added a hit to round out a balanced offensive effort.
On the mound, Micah Wilcox started for Johns Creek and worked four quality innings. Henry Lindberg followed with two scoreless frames, keeping the Hornets in check and giving the Gladiators an opportunity to rally late.
