Roswell Surges Late to Defeat Johns Creek 13–3

JOHNS CREEK, GA — The Johns Creek Gladiators baseball team hosted the Roswell Hornets on Friday, February 27, at Johns Creek High School. After holding a tight 6–3 contest through five innings, the Gladiators were overcome by a seven‑run Roswell rally in the sixth, ultimately falling 13–3.

Johns Creek opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning when Luke Volpe delivered a double over the left fielder’s head to drive in the game’s first run. Jackson Deahl took the mound as the Gladiators’ starter, providing steady work through the early portions of the matchup.

The Gladiators’ offense produced consistent contact throughout the evening. Rhys Williams, Kellen Marshall, Jesse Johns, Micah Wilcox, and Drew King each recorded hits. King delivered one of the highlight moments for Johns Creek, launching a triple to left field that plated a run and energized the home crowd.

Trailing 6–3 entering the sixth inning, Johns Creek saw the momentum shift as Roswell mounted a decisive seven‑run frame that put the game out of reach. Jacob Fetz and Phinn Czuper appeared in relief for the Gladiators as the Hornets’ offense surged late.

Despite the final score, the Gladiators showcased strong early execution and competitive at‑bats throughout the contest.

Johns Creek will have the weekend off before returning to action on Monday as they travel to face the Milton Eagles.
