The Johns Creek Gladiators dropped a close 2–0 contest to the Roswell Hornets on Tuesday, February 24, at Johns Creek High School. The matchup featured strong pitching from both sides, keeping the game tight from start to finish.
Johns Creek starter Donny Myers turned in a solid performance, working five innings while allowing two runs on five hits. Reliever Phinn Czuper followed with two scoreless innings, helping the Gladiators stay within striking distance.
At the plate, the Gladiators were led by Luke Volpe, who recorded two hits in three at-bats. Jesse Johns added a single, and Kellen Marshall delivered a double to the center‑field fence, giving Johns Creek several chances to break through offensively. Despite putting runners on in the later innings, the Gladiators were unable to convert those opportunities into runs.
With the loss, Johns Creek will look to bounce back quickly. The teams are set to meet again on Wednesday at Roswell High School, with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.
