Johns Creek Gladiators Varsity defeated Northview 7-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Austin Wainer struck out Ryan Blake to finish off the game.
Johns Creek Gladiators Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning, when Charlie Morgan singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
Johns Creek Gladiators Varsity put up three runs in the second inning. Johns Creek Gladiators Varsity’s big bats in the inning were led by a single by T.J. Kloiber and an error on a ball put in play by Jared White.
A single by Parker Poteet in the first inning was a positive for Northview.
Jack Ferguson pitched Johns Creek Gladiators Varsity to victory. He went five innings, allowing zero runs on three hits and striking out seven. Wainer threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Anish Yennam took the loss for Northview. He lasted two innings, allowing four hits and six runs while striking out one.
Dalton Pearson, Kloiber, Michael Kravitz, Morgan, and Nate Wilmot each managed one hit to lead Johns Creek Gladiators Varsity.
Yennam went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Northview in hits.
